2022 Swim and Dive Team Registration

Welcome to the registration for Old Georgetown Club Swim and Dive team!  Please complete your registration before sending your child to the first swim or dive practice of the season.  Make sure you have completed your pool membership for 2022 before attempting to register for Swim & Dive. 

Team practices will start the afternoon of Tuesday, May 31.  Wondering when specific age groups practice?  Age group specific practice times are available on the website on the 2022 Practice Schedule tab.  After a couple weeks of jam-packed skills practice, kids get to try out their refined swim and/or dive skills with the first meets of the season on Saturday, June 11, for swimmers and Saturday, June 18, for divers.  Check the schedule tab on the website for the full schedule of competitive swim and dive meets for the season.  The summer season ends by mid-July for most swimmers and divers, and at the end of July for elite swimmers and divers.  Please do not register for pre-team at this time.  Pre-team evaluations will be scheduled for the first two days after Montgomery County Public Schools release for summer.  Pre-team is offered for our younger members with the goal of competing in a Wednesday evening swim meet by the end of the summer season - mark your calendars for the last B meet of the season on Wednesday, July 13. More information on pre-team is available on the team website.

During registration, please list both/all parent's names to ease volunteer signups throughout the season.  Registration includes a team t-shirt; please indicate your child's/children's size.

Team fees this season:

Swim Team - $230

Dive Team - $230 (includes non-refundable $20 MCDL insurance fee)

     Swim and Dive Team - $460 (includes non-refundable $20 MCDL insurance fee)

Summer Swim Team Transfers

New to OGC? If your child swam for a different MCSL team in 2019, OGC will have to request a transfer. If you answer yes, a swim rep will email you requesting additional information and handle the team transfer with MCSL on your behalf. This question does not apply to divers. *

Refund Information

If a member wishes to depart the team before or during the first week of practice, a full refund (minus $20 MCDL non-refundable dive insurance fee) will be given. After the first week a 50% refund will be given. After June 10, 2022, there will be no refunds.  Credit card processing fees will not be refunded this year.

Kindly Volunteer to Work Meets

Please keep in mind the swim and dive teams are run entirely by your fellow parents and OGC membership, other than the talented coaching staff.  Our kids need your help to run meets and social events this summer.  Please volunteer early and often, help out when asked, and reach out if you desire to hear about additional volunteer opportunities.

Volunteer Opt-out

Life happens. If you foresee your family will struggle to meet the volunteering minimums this season, please feel free to opt-out at the start of the season. The swim and dive teams greatly prefer your time over your money, but we all run short on time occasionally. The opt-out fee is refunded if your family accidentally meets volunteering minimums over the course of the season. This option is a great way to avoid personalized gentle reminders to volunteer that will otherwise end up lurking in your inbox.

Swim Participation Requirements

Swim team members are expected to participate in all Wednesday exhibition meets (B meets) unless other arrangements have been made with the head swim coach.

OGC Liability Waiver

By registering my child(ren) with the Old Georgetown Club, I agree to participate (or allow my child(ren) and family members to participate) in the Old Georgetown Club, and hereby release Old Georgetown Club, its directors, officers, agents, coaches, and employees from liability for any injury that might occur to myself (or to my child(ren) and family members) while participating in the Old Georgetown Club program, including travel to and from training sessions, swim meets or other scheduled team activities.

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the above mentioned organizations and/or individuals, their agents and/or employees, against any and all liability for personal injury, including injuries resulting in death to me, my child(ren) and/or other family members, or damage to my property, the property to my child(ren) and/or other family members, or both, while I (or my child(ren) or family members) participating in the Old Georgetown Club program.
